| Our property of more than one hundred twenty acres is located
immediately
adjacent to the Appalachian Trail. The centerpiece of the
property
is the old barn that serves as the clubhouse. The other major
buildings
include the caretaker's house, tractor shed, target storage shed, and
skeet/sporting
clays clubhouse. Pheasant pens that once served to raise chicks
for
release had fallen into disrepair and the large pen was included in the
property taken by the Department of the Interior for the Appalachian
Trail.
Near the clubhouse are the shotgun fields and the archery practice butts. Five trap fields and two skeet fields were joined in 1988 by Central Pennsylvania's premier sporting clays course. A five-stand was added in 2004. Behind the clubhouse is four-acre Morris Lake that is home to bass, panfish, and trout (stocked each spring for the season opening). Starting just behind Morris Lake is the archery field course
that meanders
through the woods on well maintained grassy trails. Permanent
target
butts are available for year-round use by members. A tower allows
hunters to safely practice tree stand shots. The course is also
used
for 3-D shoots. Over the ridge from the archery course lies the rifle range. This beautiful facility offers shooters the opportunity to practice out to 300 yards. A covered firing line offers all-weather participation. A 25-yard pistol range is also served by a covered firing line. The rifle range also offers rails for 22 caliber and field pistol silhouette shooting. The remainder of the property includes farmland, forest, and wetlands. The club developed a land use plan several years ago and is now registered as a Tree Farm. The clubhouse and surrounding lawns offer the perfect setting for family reunions, company picnics, and club outings.
